For the past three years, Heritage Presbyterian Church has gone out to lead worship at other congregations to raise awareness and funds for our mission partners. In 2019, we have partnered with The Women's Center in Waukesha.
Founded in 1977, The Women's Center serves women, children, and men impacted by domestic abuse, sexual assault violence, child abuse, and trafficking.
Their core philosophy is to ensure that needs of survivors are met, children are protected, and families healed. Programs are centered on meeting the unique needs of each client, and are designed to empower while providing basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and transportation.
All funds we raise from the Shelter Service will support the Client Resource Fund.
Heritage's Shelter Service is a full worship service from beginning to end. It includes communion and a special offering for the Women's Center. The choir of the host church is invited to sing with us.
These special services are a way for us to highlight our mission partners by sharing our gifts of music and drama and is part of our new emphasis on community outreach.
