How should I dress?
You will find we are a casual congregation, however all styles of dress are welcome. You should wear whatever is comfortable for you.
If I come on a Sunday when Communion, also known as the Eucharist or the Lord's Supper, is being served, may I receive Communion? What if I have small children? May they receive Communion?
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of every month, with an occasional exception for scheduling. Communion is also offered on Christmas Eve and Easter. At Heritage, all believers are welcome to participate in the Lord's Supper. We welcome the presence of small children at our worship and they are invited to share this community meal with us.
Is your building physically accessible?
All areas of Tudor Oaks Senior Living Center, where we worship are fully accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available close to the entrance.
What about other special needs? Do you have any type of personal amplifications devices that can be used during the worship service? Large Print Bibles?
We do not have hearing assistance devices, but Tudor Oaks has an excellent sound system that can be adjusted if more amplification is needed. Large print bulletins, hymnals and Bibles are available.
Do you have a nursery?
We do not. We value the presence of children in our worship and they are encouraged to participate.
Is your service traditional or contemporary?
Our liturgy is a mix of contemporary and traditional. Our vocal and instrumental music includes traditional and contemporary arrangements as well as pieces written or arranged by Heritage musicians. We use the new Presbyterian hymnal Glory to God.
Will I have to say, sign, or give anything?
No, If you are new to our church, we want to make you feel as comfortable as possible The Order of Worship is printed in the bulletin you will receive when you enter, and it gives all the information you need to follow along as you feel comfortable.
