What to Expect/FAQs

We welcome you as you visit our community of faith, and hope that you will leave with a renewed energy and enthusiasm for life and a desire to come back and visit with us often. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions. Please feel free to contact us with additional questions.

  • How should I dress?

You will find we are a casual congregation, however all styles of dress are welcome. You should wear whatever is comfortable for you.

  • If I come on a Sunday when Communion, also known as the Eucharist or the Lord's Supper, is being served, may I receive Communion? What if I have small children? May they receive Communion?

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of every month, with an occasional exception for scheduling. Communion is also offered on Christmas Eve and Easter. At Heritage, all believers are welcome to participate in the Lord's Supper. We welcome the presence of small children at our worship and they are invited to share this community meal with us.

  • Is your building physically accessible?

We are currently worshipping at Tudor Oaks Retirement Community in Muskego. All areas are fully accessible.

  • What about other special needs? Do you have any type of personal amplifications devices that can be used during the worship service? Large Print Bibles?

The Theater at Tudor Oaks has a very nice sound system. In addition, our service is broadcast to residents in their rooms. Large print bulletins, hymnals and Bibles are available. We also have the ability to project our bulletins and hymns on a large screen.

  • Do you have a nursery?

We do not have a nursery. We value the presence of children in our worship and they are encouraged to participate. If you wish, an activity bag is is available for your use. Ask an usher.

  • Is your service traditional or contemporary?

Our liturgy is a mix of contemporary and traditional. Our vocal and instrumental music includes traditional and contemporary arrangements as well as pieces written or arranged by Heritage musicians. We have purchased and are already using the new Presbyterian Hymnal "Glory to God."

  • Will I have to say, sign, or give anything?

No. If you are new to our church, we want you to feel as comfortable and welcome as possible. The Order of Worship is printed in the bulletin you will receive when you enter, and it gives all the information you need to follow along as you feel comfortable. There is no obligation to give to the offering plate, sign the fellowship folder or stay beyond the service.
  • Will my political and theological beliefs be welcome?

You will find a wide range of political and theological views at Heritage. Our faith unites us, and together we seek to learn from each other as people of God.
